VALMEAT’s rigorous traceability system was drawn up with the utmost care in co-operation with the government’s departmental Veterinary Services.


Each batch of raw materials is identified at the abattoir, to provide traceability upstream to the farm in less than 2 hours if necessary: access to the Fiche d'Informations sur la Chaîne Alimentaire (ICA records - Food Chain Information Records): 
• Information on the food safety inspections for each batch, etc
• identification of the farmer
• identification of the poultry strain

Each block of Valmeat poultry meat is identified to ensure that all traceability information, upstream and downstream, is available quickly.

Each end product pallet is identified using a computerised system to ensure downstream traceability in case a batch has to be recalled.
